Usually, my answer to that question would be an instantaneous "book", when it comes to Romeo and Juliet however, I feel like the movie is a genuinely good adaptation of Shakespeare's work. Despite the time it's set at, which, in my opinion, doesn't really fit in all that well, the movie was a very loyal if slightly over-dramatic rendition of the story. I even think that the not so slight overreactions help convey Shakespeare's writing style and make an otherwise serious and tense play into something more watchable and appealing to a broader audience, for example, during fight scenes or monologues, characters often start posing and doing other silly things to entertain the audience. Overall I think the movie is a great and very entertaining way to know the story of Romeo and Juliet.
